So, it took a few weeks, but the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners finally took care of the exchange for starting pitcher Erik Bedard.
As we stated in a previous post, the M’s are getting a phenomenal starting pitcher who probably becomes an immediate top-5 fantasy pitcher in 2008.

We all know what the Mets got when they acquired Johan Santana this week. They got baseball’s best pitcher. And, the Phillies and MVP Jimmy Rollins are now looking up at their arch rivals again regardless of who Jimmy thinks is the team to beat. Johan is now with one of the best teams in [...]

Your man BatBoy BeeZee jumped the gun a little bit on the whole Erik Bedard to Seattle deal. Johan Santana, however, is officially on his way to the Mets.

Rumors started flying this morning that Orioles lefty ace Erik Bedard is finally on his way out of Baltimore and headed to the rain-soaked confines of Safeco Field and the Seattle Mariners.
For any Orioles fan, the only beacon of light continuing to shine on the hope of keeping Bedard is the fact that the team [...]

Royals sign Brett Tomko for 1-year and $3 million: Good for Tomko. Dude got 3-mil to be the 4th or 5th man on KC… a nice payday for a no-pressure pitching gig.
On a sidenote, Ballparkbob was in negotiations with the Royals until last evening on a two-year deal somewhere in the $4-million range, but the [...]

Ok, so the AP ran into Chris Carpenter at the Cardinals’ winter fan fest, and he is throwing again. Cards fans must be happy about this, right?
I was in a 10-team league last season, and Carp got the axe from one team when he went on the DL… so I carried him on my squad [...]
